R-Class Left Rear Suspension Squeak (Air Suspension)
Hello R-Users,
My 2007 R500 4matic with rear air suspension package has a squeaky sounds on the left-rear. You can only hear it outside. You wiggle the car, or grab the wheel bay and gently lift the car up and jiggle it up and down, and you hear it.
I spend an hour trying to unambiguously identify it, but that proved very difficult as it is relatively loud. The most left/rear bushing of the main suspension structure (nearest to the ground) seems to make the most noise. But... it may also be the air-spring unit. Very hard to tell.
Anybody have any experience with this? Any ideas/suggestions?
If it is the bushing, is it do-able to replace those or do you need a geeky tool that only the dealer has?
