So ive noticed that when using the "paddles" on the steering wheel, the trans doesnt shift when i want it to. Ive noticed that its more of a shift limiter in the sense that even if i do t downshift, it still will, it just wont shift past whatever gear i have selected. Is there any way to actually make it shift when i want it to, or am i just going to have to deal with it?

You have an issue with the shifter----get the complicated shifter system diagnosed!!

Your expecting transmission behavior... There is no transmission!! The only thing that is affected is the brake behavior.

You must read the owners manual 10 times... to conclude these things dont do much.
Paddle shifters on a 5000lb minivan? The "cool" thing that made husbands buy the car for their soccer mom wives.

Engine braking with transmission downshifts? Dunno. cheaper to replace brakes than a transmission.
