R320 Bluetec O2 Sensor locations
I picked up a new O2 sensor today. At the price I decide to replace it first instead of going straight to the Cat.
It's too late to work on the car tonight, so I will do it tomorrow. I need it to pass smog this weekend.
So, where is the O2 sensor? I haven't dug into it yet, thought I would ask to see if anyone can point me in the right direction to make things easier.
Thanks

My VIN is 4JGCB25E69A095352.
I spent some time at the parts shop I found here in SD. They cross referenced all the MB databases to make sure it was the right part number.

Yes on the 642 there is an up stream 02 sensor number 003 542 69 18 and a down stream NOX sensor---the 02 sensor screws into the up stream catalyst

WOW, that thing is a PITA to get to. Little Ahole is stuffed up in there. I'll bet its easy to replace in a sprinter through the dog house.
I found it, and got everything out of the way, but I do not have one of those sockets with a slot to get the sensor our. UGH.
On the other hand when I pulled my air cleaner I heard something rattling around so I took it apart. First, it was FILTHY and really clogged so I am going to replace them in hopes that is part of the problem. Second, I found a metal ring, not circular, but made out of what looked to be 1/16 rod(almost welding rod). I could not figure out where it went.
Every time I work on my car I find more evidence of neglect and just incompetence form the last shop I used. GRRRRRRR.
So now I need to decide whether I want to tackle the O2 sensor myself or not. Once you get everything out of the way, and have the right socket it's not that difficult. But I don't have much time so I may just have it done.
