1980 Mercedes 280 SE W126, Euro spec car! 1995 E320, payed $500 for it!
Here's my 1980 280SE Euro spec that I acquired in May. I recently added the wheels and tires. The wheels are 16"x8" SL style wheels with a -35 backspace. And, I have lowered it approx. 2" all around. I just added Euro headlights, pics coming soon.---Zach

hands down the 126 is the best car i have seen Mercedes built and it will never go old..
a newbie question.. is the SEC bonnet a direct fit to the SEL or is work required???

A new photo of my 280SE
I am blacking out all the trim, just like the early AMG's . I am also painting the bumpers upper body color. Here is a new photo, with the front bumper and grille completed. -----Z

Thanks for all your comments.
I had a full baremetal paint job done it, i mean the doors taken off, bonnet off, rear screen out, new panel welded under the rear screen etc. Its painted in a MB Designo black colour to make it stand out from the other blacks.
More pics in my restoration are inc here:
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126...d-560-sec.html
The car has had AMG cams fitted and has a complete engine build inc polished and ported heads, new valves, timing chan, all seals replaced new oil pump etc. The gearbox and diff have been rebuilt, all the suspension and joints have been renewed, the steerign box has been replaced and the entire cooling system has been renewed. I have the interior left now, am waiting to save up some money before blowing it again!

w126 300D (380SEL), w124 200
some of the pictures are a little older than some others, this summer I bought facelift bumpers, trigger plastic, which I then painted and put there to get the newer look of the car, since I have welded a lot of rust and so and it should be done next winter the car is to replace the motor to a more modern turbo engine, diesel, of course, and a Mercedes engine, maby a 300 turbo from w124
I hope you like it

PushingClassics: I see you use the lowering springs (h&r are those?), what is the size of the rims you use and any issue with that? I have the 18' AMG monoblocks (from e55) on my '89 560SEC and want to use the H&R lowering springs but having doubts on fitting together.
Looks really nice! Congrats!
