They look to be a phone system, that I had in my 84 SEC.

They might very likely be a phone system as benzitch says, they may also be a GPS antenna and booster system, or my last guess (and what would be really cool) a LoJack antenna and transmitter.
Incidently. it is NOT recommended to screw anything into the back panel behind the rear seat like that on your car, because you run the risk of breaching the gas tank which is very close behind there. |

In the early 90's I have seen the system where part of the antenna mask is for the phone and part for radio. The unit you are showing on the interior is a speaker receiver, the radio was used to make and receive calls. I didn't think there would be this system in an 86 though. My friends 91 300d w124 had one.
The one in my 84 had an actual phone, with the same looking trunk mounted unit. Last edited by BENZITCH; 04-16-2012 at 08:55 PM. Reason: addition |
