Greetings, Gurus:


Just completed my first Glow Plug Reaming job after 283KMI!
Removed Air Intake but left hard fuel lines in place.


All went well until now:


I am having difficulty aligning the 12 screw holes that hold the Intake Manifold (not the charge pipe) to the Head and am afraid of cross-threading/stripping threads if I exert excessive force starting the hex-head bolts and drawing the manifold to the head. Some screws turn a few turns then stop and pose resistance. Even after partially threading some screws, the other holes seem to be out of alignment.


Yes, I was careful in clearing the hard fuel line supports, etc.
Wish there'd been index posts or the like on the head's surface to ease this job.


Any practical tips from the experienced, would be invaluable.
