I am purchasing a 1988 420SEL with 60k original miles on it. It starts, runs and idles just fine. However, the accelerator isn't very responsive at all. When in park I can floor it and it won't rev more than half way (4000RPM I believe). When driving it has very little power and won't really go much faster than 40-45 MPH FLOORED. I've never had this problem before and cannot seem to find anything or anyone with this relation. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
