Is this 1990 300se a good buy
We are considering a 1990 one owner, well maintained, very clean 300se with 84,000. We got it up on a lift and no leaks and no corrosion. Steering and suspension look good too. They just put in a new radiator as the old one cracked at the top hose inlet while we were doing the PPI.
The have come down to$8500, but that still seems a bit high now that I know these engines tend to need a head gasket replacement every 100k or so. Also the rear differential being geared so low makes 85 mph on the freeway sound less than ideal.
If we purchase we will be driving bak to Minnesota from Oregon.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My recent experience:
Based on my own recent selling experience the price seems a bit on a high side but not too much off depending on the conditions. My 1989 300SE pristine mint condition car with $85K miles in currently being negotiated for around $7K. I am located in Southern California. My car is perfect and has complete purchase and service records. Good luck!
