1990 350 SDL
New to this Forum, trying to buy an SDL
Hello,
I am looking at a 1990 350 SDL That has been well maintained. It would be my first Mercedes and I want to make sure I buy a good one.Seller has All records and according to the mechanic all recommended service was performed over the life of the car. Still has the original engine, do I need to be concerned about bending a rod? any other design flaws with the 603 3.5 diesel I need to be concerned about?

I would run a Carfax and/or Autocheck just as an additional check.
If the Carfax/Autocheck is good, I would buy it before someone else does! Similar diesel models with more miles and less records on Ebay sells for more.
Just a word of caution. The car is still 26 years old, and although you have full records, there are ongoing maintenance to do and parts that will break due to age. The more you can do yourself, the cheaper it is. These are very good cars if they are maintained, including preventative maintenance.
Also, check out the MercedesSource on the internet and YouTube.
I will let the diesel experts chime in on the engine...
