On my 82 300SD, the shifter column sits roughly 1/2 inch further forward inside of the wood center console making it impossible to set the wood piece properly into the console. I have no idea what the previous owner may have done. Can it be adjusted back into place? The shifter section looks as original as can be. Thanks for the help.
