Windows Won't Go Down Part II

So I removed my door panel (82 300SD) and connected the battery to the window motor wires. Windows are currently up. Nothing at all (no sound nor movement) going up (+ to+, - to -) but in the down position (reversed) I hear a nice quiet buzz. Is the motor likely shot? I appreciate the help! -michael

Thanks for the reply, Plutoe. But I'm a little confused. Are you saying the motor is no good?

Thanks. Do I have to take out the entire regulator assembly to replace the motor?

You don't have to specify that detail because the correct part number for your VIN will include that----go to a dealer for help in defining the part or use EPC to do it yourself or post your VIN and be patient!!

I get a bit excited about new projects. My VIN is WDBCB20A8CB029328. And what's EPC? Thanks again.

EPC=electronic parts catalog(MB)-----The R motor is 001 820 43 42--The L motor is 001 820 42 42

You can use those part numbers to source the motor

The other reason I asked about the teeth is that I'm new tobthese gorgeous cars and some of the folks I see online don't show a part # and some say 8 teeth fits, some say 10 teeth fits... which of course can't be true (both fitting). Rainy here now so I haven't taken the old motors out yet.
