1990 560SEL Wheels/Offset Question

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a 1990 560SEL. I bought a set of early r129 SL 16" x 8" wheels (et. 34 or 34.5) that are wrapped with 225/55/16 tires.

I've researched this topic extensively and found out that I need 5mm spacers for the front to avoid inner suspension interference. I took the car to the mechanic today and he said that the 5mm H&R spacers for the front weren't thick enough to clear the suspension.

Can anyone please advise? My next option is going to a 15mm H&R spacer---H&R doesn't have anything in between. I'm afraid the front wheels are going to 'stick out' and would like to avoid that.

Thanks.
