1985 MB 500SEL dies
Background; car starts, runs fine on the road, BUT engine will die when I take my foot of the gas petal sometimes, and I noticed the engine when idling at 750-800rpms will advance to about 1100rpms as the engine warms up. I believe both issues are related. I have changed out the Idle Control Module, Electronic Fuel Pump Relay, Overload Protection Unit, etc.
I put a 12v bulb attached to the Idle Control Valve and sometime it comes on, but usually stays off.
Any suggestions on testing/fixing this would be greatly appreciated.
