Also - one finding from times when my closing at on of my doors was not working as it should (question of a microswitch - that I described earlier; and not the pump).

If the door in question was the last one to be shut, and the window was fully up, probably the pressure inside the car was prohibitinig the whole door, and subsequently the switch, to get to a position where it was able to initiate the sucking (send a proper signal to the pump) and in most cases no action was initiated.

If, during closing of the door in question, any other door was left open, or the window of the "questionned" door was at a bit down, the in-the-car pressure was not there (I imagine) and the sucking worked OK (the door was able to get to a position where the switch was able to send a signal). It seems that the switch was working improperly and not able to engage at this "slighly earlier position".

And obviously the most used door are prone to this failure. Nothing to do with the pump.

The microswitch is not a common failure, the pump pressure sensor and motor are, read article on v12 posted above, The fastest test is fuse #9.

I have a similar issue where my soft close doors and trunk were not working. So I was told that I have to cycle a certain fuse in the trunk fuse box. Everytime I take the fuse out and put it back in, the system works once, and then halts again. Will following the v12 article help me to fix this once and for all, or is my case different?

Mine is a W220 .. but had the same problem. I kept changing the fuse on mine for a few months .. then it finally went and would just blow the fuse as i put it in. If you need to keep changing the fuse, it probably means the pump is on the way out.

I make no guarantees, but it can't hurt to try. You need to do some diagnostics first, which I describe in the article on v12uberalles.com. There are many possibilities for failure of the system.

I have the same issue, except mine takes 2 cycles before I have to R&R the #9 fuse. Anyone saved the V12uberallies article?

I do not have the V12 article, but for adjusting the cut off pressure of the Close Assist;

1. Find the pump under the carpet in front of the fuel tank,
left-hand side when viewing into the trunk. Its encased in foam.
This is a Coupe variant, with fewer lines;



2. Carefully disconnect the lines with a small spanner to help.

3. Remove the cover. If I remember correctly, to remove, use
a flat screwdriver on the gap between the bottom and the cover.
Possibly also remove the 2 top screws.







4. Reconnect the lines (no need to reconnect the vent line) and operate
soft-close while watching the pressure cut off seen here;



5. If it does not active, and the pump runs for 10s and time out;
Turn the hex adjusting bolt outward for the pump to shutoff at lower pressure.

6. Make sure that the door actually closes fully before the shutoff pressure is reached.
