driver side door vacuum pump
Hi Guys
I just want to ask if it's difficult to replace door vacuum pump on the driver side . I believe it is somewhere under the back seat . I saw some pretty good deals on ebay , if i can't do it myself i will have to probably go to stealership . Only driver side door pump is out , all other are working fine . Please let me know if it's posibble to do it without stealeship help , best regards !!!

The pump under the passenger rear seat controls all the doors, trunk and fuel lock and unlock. It also seves as the pressure side for the lumbars, and backup vacuuum source for the HVAC. (trunk handle, backup rods, and manual headrest on some models)
I would try to determine if it is the problem exists with the element in the door or the hose going to it, since they all are tied together. It is pressure to unlock, vacuum to lock. These are all yellow colored
There are two models, the late 94 and the replacement requires "t"s and other fittings, the earlier had all the hoses plug into the plump plenum. It is possible to use a tool called "mighty vac" to check the line to the door by drawing a vacuum on the line.

I heard a loud pop and now my drivers soft door does not work.. I hear air leaking in the door or from a pump in the door. Head rest flipped up once before the door stop closing and once after so far.. Any ideas what this could be?
Could just a line have broken and made the loud pop noise?? It was a very loud pop! The pop noise sounded like it came from the trunk or back seat area. Not sure. I was outside next to drivers door and wife was still inside the car. She also thought trunk or back seat.

The door lock pump is under the rear seat on passenger side.
Lift up the rear seat and you will see a square foam container abt 10" long
4# wide, inside of it you find the door lock pump.
The soft close pump is on the driver side inside the trunk, under the lid hinge bar inside a foam like container of similar size.
Do a search on lock pump and door close pump for many posts.

All the door locks, fuel and trunk are on the same line, you could have blown an actuator in the door. It is pressure to unlock , vacuum to lock. The self closing system which has a pump over the rear wheel next to the fuel tank, has a valve for each door and trunk. The system also purges the lines after every closing assist, which resets the elements.
