New central locking pump problem S320 please HELP! Woman into Mechanics
Hi My name is Brandi, I have been lurking on this site since sept of 2010 when i bought my 97 S320. Recently i diagnosed my problem thanks to brett from san diego with his great post about these commom problems! However the first 2 days after i installed the new pump i heard a noise on the drivers side like a air leak & also noticed if i moved the control where the numbers go from o-5 on the side of the seat the air leak noise would get louder. So for now since i do not want to harm the new pump I have taken out the fuse. i did check the pump out again before i did this & have a few questions pertaining to what i seen. The first one is how long does the pump cycle? I heard it continously cycling , not turning off? Also another question the hose that hooks up to RH i dont have or need since i have no back up assistant but the new bosch pump has a place for it & i also hear the air leaking out when the car is put in reverse do i need to get a cap for this one to cap it off? Also i dont know for sure but i believe if there is a hole in the vacuum line that is making the noise i hear in the driver seat it would be the lumbar hose correct?? & if so which letters on the pump is the hose that connects to this to make it work? The reason i ask is what if i also get a cap in the meantime to cap off this hose for the lumbar so it would cycle normal? Everything else should still work right? I am no expert at all these are just thoughts i came up with hoping someone here would have some insight as to if they would work?

Your RH line is back up assist. Plug 1 pin 20 is a grey yellow it is for the back up assist. disconnect it. then the pump wont trigger in reverse gear.
p+ is for your multi contour backrest, most likely it has a leak. the pump should only cycle when you make an adjustment on the seat.
