Change your Dust Filter W140s

On my 95 S320 Just finished removing nearly 20 torx screws holding down the drain cover near the firewall while under-hood. There are 3 larger Phillips screws holding the cover on top of the dust filter unit. THen there are the same head larger screws that have longer shafts holding the entire cowl steel drain filters. It's an easy job but I'm glad I did it - vacuum job will do for 1 day while I wait to go to Mercedes and obtain my Dust filter (MB Part No. 140 835 0047 Micron Air.) Also took time to remove the steel strainer basket under the two screw separate cover within the larger cowl cover, which has to be re-inserted properly (tightly in the grooves) so the cover sits flat once put back on. Also took time to wash the rubber around the galvanized flapper over the dust filter unit (I'm guessing it closes upon recirc. with vacuum control).

THen everyone should also know there is an inside filter accessed underneath the glove box in the passenger footwell (kind of like the white thin filter media in our Miele Vacuum cleaner that I gave a light vacuum to and put back).
