need help diagnosing harsh vibration in 93 300SE
-that goes away - crazy!
My '93 300SE vibrates badly at driveline speed around 40mph for the first few miles every day after being parked outside nightly. When the car finally shifts into top gear (or the torque converter locks - don't know), the vibration goes away and doesn't reappear until the next morning. The dealer's mechanic did not experience it (of course not - the car had warmed up!). He did put it up on a lift to show me two hairline cracks he said he could see (I could not see them) in a flex coupling. I find it hard to believe two invisible hairline cracks in a drive coupling would cause a harsh vibration that goes away in two miles of driving.
Has anyone else any ideas?
