1993 400sel won't stay running

I have an opportunity to buy a creampuff 1993 400sel. 60k miles. The current owner doesn't want to mess with it, as he has at least 4 other cars..

Problem is it runs for a half hour or so, then shuts off. I'm thinking converters, ignition, or crank sensor.

If it's the cats, I would gamble that such a low mileage vehicle was used for short trips..possibly leading to converter failure.

Any advise you guys could give me? Is a muffler shop able to address converters on this car, or would it be OEM only?

Any advise is appreciated
