Instrument cluster

I replaced my instrument cluster with one I purchased from eBay.
How do I reset the odometer to read my original mileage which was 166,970?

Either you take it ALL apart, and I mean pieces with some former knowledge about speedo's or else you are going to have to send it away!
You can do it!
Just learn on youtube how they are made and what they consist of inside. This goes along with all other machanical speedo's.
Luck.

I was led to believe that there is a microchip with the mileage and you swapped it out with the new cluster. What were the symptoms that made you replace it? I have one that is apparently causing a short in the blinker which makes the mileage, temp, and background light blink with the blinker and sometimes causes a double blink that looks like it would if there were a burned out bulb.

there's a detailed video on youtube, showing how to pull the chip. Then hooking it,to a lap top,and resetting mileage. But it may work if you swap chips.
