Sometimes the hose for the wiper fluid gets clogged. Disconnect the hose and blow into it. That usually cleans out the line. No suggestions on the window regulator

1997 Mercedes S420
Sounds like the window lift is broken which will keep the window from rolling up but won't keep the motor from operating. This is a common occurrence; I have a 1997 S420 with the same problem and will get around to fixing it someday. However, the car is not driven much and there is almost never someone in the back seat. You have a switch next to the gear shift on the driver's side which can prevent the rear windows from being rolled down until you get it fixed. It is like a child safety switch.

Hope this helps a bit. I am pretty new to all of this myself and so am kind of feeling my way around in the dark.
