my 1998 S500 windshield wipers stop moving period but I can hear the motor on when turning the switch

Out Of Control!!
Looked at your VIN and regrettably with you advising you hear the motor,but dosen't turn indicates that the stalk and fuses\relay are good---the fault lies with the motor.
The motor is tricky to install correctly therefore make sure you choose wisely on a gent to do the work!!

The motor is tricky to install correctly therefore make sure you choose wisely on a gent to do the work!!

It was the wiper linkage not the motor.
