Bouncing/Shaking - suspension question

I have a new to me 1995 S420 with 130k on the clock. I had the car on the interstate for the first time this Sunday and I noticed that there was what felt like bouncing... It was not terrible but it was noticeable. You could feel it in the steering wheel and see the rear view mirror bouncing up/down.

I know that I need new sway bushings and sway links because I inspected them while changing the front brake pads.

The tires are new so lets assume that they were correctly mounted and balanced....hopefully anyway.

Any idea what could cause this?

Wammer, does your car have SLS? (Self leveling system) If so you have nitrogen spheres that pressurize the struts (shocks) These develop leaks over the years and you start getting "bouncy". If you do and have never changed them, I would start there. They are about $90 each. Hoping your struts are not leaking fluid there is a clever mounting device on top of them that wears. If the struts are leaking they are a cozy $5-700 each! The pump for the leveling system is in the power steering unit. It has a filter and one should change all of the fluid then the filter using only MB fluid.
Hope this helps.

Do your tires show signs of uneven wear? If so, they may indicate the cause of the problem. I lost a balancing weight on the right front tire and the result was a noticeable bounce with was corrected with a 1.5 ounce weight placed at the correct location on the wheel by my tire man. Problem solved.
