S430 - How often should you change transmission fluid?
How often should you change transmission fluid?
Although service manual recommend change engine oil to be done at 10K mile interval, there are a lot of people change the engine oil (and filter) at 5K mile interval.
At the same time, service manual recommend to change transmission fluid at 100K miles interval, can anyone advise to change the transmission fluid sooner? or is it okay to do it every 100K.

Just update:
Although the service manual and/ MB dealer recommends to change transmission fluid at 100K miles
I just change it at 58K miles. No "flush", just drain (including the torque converter) and fill. 7.5 US qt (out of 8) came out (S430 year 2000). The old one looks dark yellow-almost light brown color.
Hope this simple maintenance prolongs the life of the tranny.
Independent mechanic + MB ATF = $200.
