defective display ----> Binding post

So for not reason on sunday I got the defective display warning and the red "brake" light on. I didn't immediately notice any other symptoms until going in to work monday in the rain….no wipers. pass low beam out, no steering column adjust and no driver turn signal in the headlamp housing (mirror signal works though). If its not listed here, its working.

STAR indicates multiple failures and events, all of them point to no CAN comms with SAM-FL.

I looked under the hood and in the SAM box to see what I would find a noticed I could hear a clicking sound from one of the relays. I was able to isolate it to relay B which as far as I can tell is listed as being "Binding post 15" (not 15 R). See attached image for reference

Google has not been my friend and neither has forum searching as to what this is and why this relay would be clicking out of the blue.
Anyone?

Thanks for the reply

That would make sense to me if there had been rain near the time of the occurrence but it's been warm and dry.

I'm open to the possibility but can't find any indicator and the drains are clear of debris. The SAM lids were tight and secure as well as no indicators inside.

I would check "Binding Post 15" if I knew what or where it is lol.

I'm not looking for an argument, just some help.

Since you going to challenge me on this, please read my original post again carefully. The problem occurred on a Sunday. The error message was there. It wasn't until Monday when it rained, hence trying to use the wipers that I noticed there were more issues related to the warning message than just the "defective display" warning, brake dash light, missing ext. temp display.

At that point I began investigating to see what other function was lost.

Before the point I got "defective display" etc, it had been warm and dry as I stated.

I apologize if anything was unclear

UPDATE

Changing the FL SAM itself corrected the issues

[if anyone knows what the hell a binding post is, or its location, i'd still like to know lol srsly]

This is strictly a guess, not actual knowledge!

The electrical circuits are broken into groups (sometimes referred to as buses) under the DIN (German Industrial Standards) Standards. Circuits 15 are switched battery circuits - that is, all electrical circuits that are turned on with the ignition switch. In order to reduce the switching load on the ignition switch, it is very common to have a relay that is turned on by the ignition switch, and the relay then powers another 15 bus. I suspect that Relay B simply turns on a second 15 bus (a group of circuits connected together).

And, as additional speculation, Relay C might turn on another 15 bus that is retained power - that is, a group of circuits that are turned on by the ignition switch, and which stay on until something else (such as opening the driver's door) turns them off.

Thanks for the info Wallyp. I know it's 8 years later, but googling up "binding post 15" this post c and swap it around and see if that's it beforeame up.
Crossed battery terminals in an emergency and I fried some fuses and my Climate Control is on the fritz.
Still completely dead and fan running at high speed.
Hope I havent fried the SAM.
Might as well pick up a Binding post relay and swap it around for $10.00 before trying to find someone to hit me over the head for diagnostics
Never know and thanks,
