2002 S-430
The car is outside of the warranty. It has 87,000 miles on it so, therefore I am on my own! My extended warranty will not cover them because emissions related items are excluded. However, if some how a warranty covered part caused them to fail (high unlikely), then they would cover them.
So anyone have any websites from where I can purchase them? Or can I just take it to a muffler shop and have them put in some after market Cats?

They are warranted by Mercedes Benz..They should not charge you a fee. I take my car to an indy shop. He said "go to the dealer or call them and tell them that your CATS are shot and need to be replaced" they look up your vin# to make sure it was not already preformed....a day later a brought it in and by the end of the day it was done "No Charge" since they bill Mercedes direct for labor.

Here u go::
http://www.autohausaz.com/
I got mine there, it cost 375 of something like that shipped....fit great, and had it replaced by my local shop for 90$$$$....
U can also have it done cheaper---go to a good shop where they weld stuff, and have them cut out just the catalytic converter....and replace just that.
My friend does that with all his cars...145$ .....depends how much u love your car, and what your finances allow u to do.
Heres some other sites:
http://germanstar.net/
http://www.1motormart.com/
http://www2.partstrain.com/store/
U should find what u need there.
Good luck

I have 2002, S430 and my passenger side converter is shot. Third party repair shop close to my home is quoting me for 825 + tax for parts and labor. I think it's pretty high but after I read the previous posts on this thread mine might cover under the warranty because my car has only 77K miles? I called a few dealers around my area and they all telling me to bring the car in for service and not giving me the answer i wanted which is it covers for repair if it is under 80K miles.
