2001 - MB S320 CDI
Question Electrical cooling fan - diesel vs petrol

Hi,

I've got a 2001 S-320 CDI, and was wondering if the electrical cooling fans of the diesel and petrol versions are interchangeable ??

If not the Complete "shroud" maybe the motor ?

2006 S600
They are, but there are several versions.

I have an S600 which had an 850W direct drive fan, and I replaced it with an S320CDI fan, which was identical.

Watch out for early S500's etc. which had belt driven fans - not compatible.

You can change the motor, but its hard-wired to the controller, so its hardly worthwhile.

Nick
