2006 S500 trunk latch help

I need help with my wife's 2006 S500, The trunk switch on the driver door and fob, and the exterior trunk hand switch just stopped opening the trunk and we now have to use the hard key,
the trunk stopped the soft close about 5 months ago, I read and performed the DIY on sealing the latch part #2207500185 and now the soft close is working again but the driver door switch and fob and trunk hand switch still won't open the trunk.

My question is does the rod get pushed from the part #2207500185 with the latch or does it get pulled from the hand switch part #2207501293?
The key tumbler (is attached to #2207501293) pulls up on the rod freeing the latch. The MBz service said it is the latch side part #2207500185

Or is there a fuse or reset or something I need to try first?

I'm sorry I don't know the correct names for these parts but I do know I need to replace at least one of these and want your help to choose the right part.

I had a small portion of what ur dealing with and read if you reset the computer it fixes problems. I had trouble finding the correct fuse do I disconnected the battery for like 10 minutes and then magically it was fixed and has been for the past three months. Good luck

I finally fixed the trunk, it turns out it was 4 broken wires in the harness that feeds to the trunk latch. I had to check continuity and there is was, not getting the signals it needed. The harness outer webbing had to be cut open to find the damaged wires and I would have never thought it could be damaged inside this nicely wrapped webbing but it was. I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner, I learned a lot about the trunk parts.

Hi - Could you please describe the wire damage within the harness casing? Meaning was the damage near any type of crimped connector or the wires were damaged due to abnormal bending? I have an intermittent trunk latch issue. Not a vacuum one.
