W220 Parts Car.
So i just got some unfortunate news, a seal has failed and caused transmission fluid to destroy the trans computer and now it wont shift out of first. The car goes from 1st to Reverse but thats about it. So now before i donate it or try to get any lowball offers from these cash for car places i figured i throw it up here and see if anyone is interested in a parts car. Everything else works and runs great. I just had replaced the climate control and the air blower with in the last 2 months both brand new mercedes parts cost around 2k with labor for both also the air compressor for the air ride has been replaced with in the last 6 months.
Here are some specs:
2000 S500 Black on black with wood trim.
car has 124,000 miles
looking for around 2500-3000
any questions comments or concerns please feel free to reach me at adam.suris@gmail.com

Shardul is telling you that the TCU module in the engine bay is soaked in oil that has wicked up the wires in the harness from the transmission. This happens when the main transmission connector is not replaced as part of a typical transmission oil change service.
Buy a used TCU from Shardul, buy a new connector, and have the wires in the harness cleaned from the TCU down to the transmission connector. This should fix the problem and you can keep the car.

Appreciate the advice. I think im just ready to move on to something a little bit cheaper to maintain. so if anyone is looking for a fixer i live in New jersey contact me looking for $2500 if not ill probably just end up donating it and getting the tax refund.

This is a very very common problem on these cars and the fix is cheap if you have a mechanic familiar with this problem
Remember you Can't deduct the market value if you donate it, you only get to deduct the actual price the charity sells it for. The IRS closed that loophole

There is a good chance that you can fix the problem for $5 and an hour's work.
- Buy a large spray can of brake cleaner.
- Open the right front SAM, locate the TCM, open it, clean it, replace it.
- If it works, this will be a temporary fix that might last a few weeks or a few months. You can repeat as required, or change the transmission adapter then repeat, which will probably solve the problem.
