hey guys, after my car reaches operating temperature it mixes coolant into my windsheild washer reservior. From there it starts leaking and my check coolant light comes on. I cant seem to figure it out! help! thanks!!!

Your windshield washer reservoir is heated

Remove the larger plastic cap from the washer reservoir. Remove the washer fluid (which will be contaminated with coolant) and safely discard. You can remove most of the fluid by pulling the pump from the tank on the lower front side.

The two metal lines entering the tank are the coolant loop that heats the washer fluid. There will be a leak somewhere in that coolant loop. Remove and repair the loop, or bypass it outside of the tank. Thoroughly clean the tank to remove all traces of coolant - it will make a mess on the windshield otherwise.

My S430 has the same problem. I tried to remove the heater loop, but it is blocked by something inside the reservoir. Is the heater loop connected to something inside the reservoir?

Mercedes uses the engine coolant to heat the windshield wiper fluid. It does so by running the hot coolant loop inside the washer fluid tank, this making the washer fluid hot so it can be used to de-ice the windshield if needed. Do not use the wipers because the hose line is not made to carry coolant and can degrade the material. And coolant is super hard on the clear coat over your paint. You can bypass the hose of you don't live in anywhere too cold.
