2000 S430 Engine Hesitation at Stop
Hi this is my first post in the forum.
I bought a 2000 S430 last year with 130k miles on it. Recently, it starts to hesitate at stop signs. Pressing the gas pedal brings up the engine to 2000rpm, but the car did not accelerate until 10 secs later. Feel the loss of power when the car stops at the stop sign with a slight on ramp and car is backing down. This only happens intermittently.
What could be wrong? MAF?
Thanks for your help.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I would start with the MAF. If you do get one don't go for the cheapie. Otherwise you will be replacing it in about 3 months. Get the original Bosch brand. If it were me I would also get a new one and not a re-manufactured.

Turned out to be the conductor plate issue
I cleaned the MAF, changed transmission fluid twice and the hesitation still persists. Then further looked at the conductor plate. There is a crack on the plastic part of the turbine speed sensor. Bought one on eBay for less than $150 and replaced it by following the video on YouTube. Make sure to not get the two tiny filters in the solenoid holes lost during the change. After the replacement of the conductor plate, it seems the problem is resolved.
See photo attached. Showing the new conductor plate but with the crack location marked for the old conductor plate.
