Seeking suggestion on W220 2005 Sclass
Went to a Benz Indy for oil change, while closing the down the hood he slammed it so hard that the spring and plastic housing, behind the grill, which pushes the hood upwards so hood can be opened to first stop when the lever is pulled from inside the car. Even though my car is a 2005 S600, I suppose all
W220 models use the same assembly, or am I wrong?
How easy is it to replace, assuming I can find it somewhere other than a dealer?

It's very easy. Just a snap out and snap in. I replaced mine recently and paid only $12 for the part from my MB parts shop. I had to verify it was really a MB part since it was so cheap. I believe that the spring assembly is a standard fit over many years.
