Great deal on Mobil1 for $10.66/5qt jug after rebate
For all the DIY oil changers here, I want to share this great deal going on right now for Mobil1 motor oil. Walmart has the 5qt jugs for $22.66. Mobil has a $12 mail-in rebate for every 5qt purchase. That is net $10.66 per 5qt jug before sales tax. That is cheaper than dino oil!
I got 2 jugs of 0W-40 European Car Formula for $49.40 - 24 rebate = $25.40 or 12.70 per jug after tax (CA). If you have use a Discover Card, order it online for in-store pickup and save another 5% for Discover Cashback.
Rebate offer is from 8/1/2014 to 10/31/2014.
While Walmart is not listed in the participant list, I did call the rebate number first to confirm that they are indeed a participant in the offer.

Tusabes, I printed out your coupon and went back to Walmart and got 2 more jugs of 0W-40. I won a $5 off coupon myself so I was going to purchase these 2 jugs separately since the coupon states it is for one time use only - one with your coupon and the other with my coupon. When the cashier tried to scan your barcode, it would not scan. So she entered it manually and it took off the $10. With tax, it came to $14.81. Then, she rang up the 2nd jug and I gave her my coupon. Same thing happened when she scanned it. So I got 2 more jugs for $29.62.
Then, I called up the rebate phone number and asked if I can still submit the rebate even if I used the coupon from their game. The representative said yes, not a problem. And again, Walmart is a participating retailer and that they are working on updating the list that is on the website.
