Looking to buy a S350 2006.
Hi, I willl like to get your opinion about S350 2006.
I found that MB offers the W220 in a SWB for 2006 which I like because is not that big.
I am a bit scare of Airmatic issues.
I m a DYI for the most part, also owns Carsoft 7.4. which I use for my W210.
Can someone who knows about these particular car described their experience with it ?
My second choice is a W211 2004-2005.
I Like the S350 because the M112 and 722.6 combo.
What is real Mileage per gallon on the S350. Its really worst than S430 and some have said ?
Thanks in advance.

GREAT car!
While it's certainly not an S65, just reset the transmission, click it to Sport(!) and it roars...
MPG depends on your foot's weight; the heavier your foot on the gas pedal, the worth MPG.
It's about 5" shorter then the other S-Class, yet as comfortable, smooth and quite like a Maybach...
Airmatic is present on any S-Class, so it's nothing in particular with the S350.
As someone who owned W210, you should know that E320 one of the feistiest cars out there, as about 80% of its torque is produced at ~2000 RPMs; the S350 is NOT like that.
Furthermore, if you change the tires to anything wider than stock (225), it'll impact the torque and MPG.
All and all, one of the best cars I've ever owned!

Thanks for the input about the S350. Its really helpful. Now, about the tires, what you are trying to say is to get wider than 225 tires ? This will improve the torque and MPG..?
thanks

There is no reason wider tires will affect mpg or torque
Wider tires usually have a shorter sidewall to keep the overall diameter the same
It's fine to run 245/45 /18 front and 275/40/18 rear as they are the factory sport size
Massively taller tires than stock will affect performance

I had 20" w/ 275/35/20 Nittos and I went back to stock on all 4, 225/55/17 Hankook and it's like a different car in terms of day to day driving (faster, smoother, quieter, softer, much more responsive stearing) and MPG improved by 3-4, which is ~16%...!

275/35/20 is the totally wrong diameter for a w220
It is a much taller tire which changed your gear ratio
It's not the width that was the issue , it's the weight of the larger wheel and tire and the incorrect tall diameter
