headlight cleaner / electronic fuse

Hey guys,
I'm driving a 2001 S500.

I was always wondering how to turn on my headlight cleaner. I finally found the button, pressed it, nothing... (ok, the light dimmed for a second and I think I heard a noise, but I'm not sure because I'm living on a busy street).

I have enough washer fluid, after pressing the button several times (even for longer periods of time) there was no "leak" visible underneath the car. According to the fuse chart it is an electronic fuse. I also opened the two lids, so yes I do have nozzles equipped in my car.

What does "electronic fuse" mean, can I check it somehow, or does anyone else has a clue what could be wrong?

Thanks already for all the help
Chris

There is no usual fuse for the circuit in the fuse box to blow in case of malfunction, but rather a SAM detects the error and supposed to send a message.

If the problem fixed, it restores the power automatically. All your bulbs have electronic fuse.

I would try to switch the windshield wipers on. Maybe the headlight cleaners only work when the wipers operate (just a guess).
