I recentlypurchased the CTEK Multi US 3300 charger/tender for my 2002 S430. I am looking for advice in terms of use and install of the unit. I noticed it appears that thr charging unit coooube attached to a wall with screws, are there any mounting concerns I shoul be aware of? The unit comes with two different leads one type is attached to the battery via bolt, the other is a normal jumper cable style attachement to battery, which is advisable? Is it safe to attach the charging leads to the battery in the trunk and then close the trunk? My concern is any potential damage to the car or potential fire hazard should the leads become unattached and possibly cause a spark.

I apologize if my questions seem laughable to some, but since I have no personal experience on the issues in question I am turning to the forum for advice!

I would not use a battery tender at all because these cars are so susceptible to electrical damage with chargers

I would disconnect the battery then charge it .

When I inquired about the Ctek at the dealership I was told they wouldnt harm the electronics
