Limp mode with CEL when driving in Dyno mode

I've recently discovered there is an ESP dyno mode in my S350 and I wish I had discovered it sooner. Love doing low speed drifts on turns on very smooth roads but ever time I do this, I get a CEL and the car goes into limp mode. I also noticed that car wouldn't go into reverse immediately and revving it makes the car jerk backward quite strongly.

This is not a problem when the dyno mode is set to off since I get no CEL message and no transmission issues are detected when driving the car.

I bought a cheap bluetooth OBD II scanner and got a "P0730 incorrect gear ratio" error message.

What to do? I am really enjoying the ESP totally OFF mode and now I get this stupid problem.

The car seems to jump right into limp mode and stays in 3rd gear all the time.
Going from drive to reverse takes a few seconds and vise versa.

Any idea what might be the problem?

Check your transmission fluid level. You might have a bad conductor plate, a pretty common problem.

How do I do that? There is a red warning label on the stick warning me from doing so.

You need a transmission dipstick; to take the cap off, you will need to break the red tab and pull the cap off.

Not going to bother and buy a dipstick for my transmission.

I'll just ask the technician to check my transmission oil level during my B service.

OK, the dealer will probably tell you that your transmission needs to be replaced. Change the conductor plate and the plug. Will save you lots of grief and money in the future.

Yes, like John said, the dealer will make you get a new transmission. Labor + Transmission will probably be worth more than the car.

Just curious, why are you driving in Dyno mode? That disables all the safety features your car has. You should only put it in dyno mode if you want a smoke show or actually on a dyno.

I drive in dyno mode when I want to drift into corners and when I am feeling tail happy since turning off ESP doesnt let you smoke the tyres and is too intrusive.

Let the dealer tell me I need a new transmission.

I bought a new car anyway so this might be my opportunity to sell the car once and for all.

They've changed the transmission oil not too long ago so if they think a transmission change is in order then I believe them. Some call them stealerships but that doesn't apply to all of them.

2020 GLE 300d
I have a 2020 GLE 300d it keeps loosing power and very sluggish changing gears it will not manual change gears with the paddles no kick down and no engine management light come on the dash.
I have taken it to Mercedes to be checked over they can not find any problems on there computer even when it was in limp mode when I took it back I kept it running it was not still showing any errors.
This could happen any time I am driving and then I could go a whole week before it happens again.
Mercedes Northern Cyprus have said they have changed a couple of sensors and they are in contact with Germany who are not to sure what the problem is this is only 4 months old should I be asking
to exchange it for a new one.

This is a W220 Forum, and it is pretty unlikely that anyone here will know much about a 2020 model. Our model ended in 2006...
