radio say system unavailable Benz S430 2004
Comes on then when I'm driving it goes out sound only I know it's something to do with the fiber optics sounds like a short somewhere

I'm sorry if this is hurtful, but I have read your post repeatedly, and I don't understand it at all. Perhaps reposting with clear, concise sentences and much more and more precise detail would help us to understand your problem.

Lol. Yes, if the sound stops then you have an open circuit in your fiber cable caused by a break in the optics cable or more likely a component in the loop such as bad cd changer, cell module, or voice control if you have any of those options. U can bypass each one with a $8 adaptor from the dealer.

Conklin1, not to be rude but I can barely understand some of the posts you have started on this part of the forum. Next time instead of writing "Mike" as the topic, try like "SRS LIGHT ON does not turn off" or something like that, so you will get a higher chance of getting more opinions from different people.
