2001 S500 Engine Harness Replacement
I own a 2001 S500 (VIN 1A194593), began having problems with the wiring harness, so I purchased a direct replacement from Mercedes. Part number is 220 540 71 06.
Installation was easy and straightforward, but now I get the following codes: P0117, P0453, P0341, P0101. The codes are always on, or return immediately after I clear them and then attempt to restart. Symptoms: Radiator fan comes on right away and stays on running at high speed. Car acts as if no camshaft sensor or it is bad. Hard starting or not at all. Oil Sender Malfunction - Visit Workshop is displayed.
Can you tell me what the problem may be? (i.e. does is need to be re-flashed, reprogrammed, ?) The battery was disconnected when I made the change, but I performed another just to ensure an ECU reset. What am I missing?

In case you already have not done so, go through and reseat all the connectors on the harness and also make sure all the pins are properly seated in the connectors. There may be some that are not making contact. I had the same problem with an old C class but had my Mercedes Indy do the work.
You may also want to double check the part number on the harness because there may be some wiring changes if they gave you an updated version.

Thanks for the reply. I've reseated the conductors twice. Was wondering if there are any individual fuses that may impact the four(4) indicated P codes?
Also, nothing changed about the car while the harness was being replaced. The old harness was removed, and the new installed directly after.
The only change is to the MAP sensor connector. It's a different connector, and I purchased a new MAP.
