Lock/Unlock BEEEP
Hello everyone!
My friend with a E500 2003 just got his rear SAM coded to beep on lock. And it sounds amazing. I got my front left SAM coded as well, and it sounds like a dying cow, beeping away. Is that just a problem with the old alarm siren? (from 2002) I would love to get the "premium" sounding BEEPs (sounds just like the F10 I have) upon locking/unlocking the doors, especially when I have a extremely silent door lock mechanism.
Here is an example...

Jason,
I just swapped my old siren on my 05 S500 to the new one 219-820-32-26 that comes already with the chirp. All I can say is that the chirp/beep is very soft vs the one you posted on your clip. It is nice to actually hear the car when you lock/unlock even if it's not that loud. Was going to go the sam coding route but figured, I am going to need a new alarm at some point anyways so why not get it now? Don't know if this helps with your question but that is my experience

Thanks doni01!
My current alarm is from the factory 2002, still working but it's starting to have issues. Like flashing fog lights on the X number of locks. I will replace it this weekend, see how it does.
BTW do you know how to disarm the alarm? When I replace it, I will remove the battery terminal and disconnect the connector, is the alarm going to go off on me? Because i'd probably fly across the room if that happens.

Thank you for all the help!
My old alarm had two screws that could be taken out. I want to take it apart and see the condition of the batteries.

For the alarm. You need a new alarm module. Because the alarm is coded differently. The alarm module was 190 shipped from amazon. It is a genuine bosch alarm without the mercedes branding on it.
I changed it because the alarm module was showing its age, like flashing fog lights and sometime unresponsive panic button. Not bad for 2002. 13 years.
I wanted the beepa lot, soi nist replaced it. Took like 45 minutes. Very simple and quick.
FYI, when doing work on the electricial system, make sure the batteries are disconnected.

190 not bad, I have flashing fogs sometimes and my panic button doesn't work so it may be time to spend the money. I think i'll take it to MB ( My friend knows the dealer ) Any Video of your alarm?

I will create a video soon. I know a trained MB mech, who can change the sounds for me on my next oil change. Right now it is BEEP...BEEP...BEEEP. My friend with the E500 had his changed to BEEPBEEPBEEP. Maybe i can make it sound like a F10. Right now the default volume is perfect. Not too loud not too soft. Won't **** off my neighbors 2am in the morning, still loud enough to hear it 20 ft away in a busy parking lot.
This is the best 200 bucks i've spent. If you are hands on. This would take you less time than me. Because I didn't have a M6 nut on hand, so I had to scavenge the whole house for one. Still did the whole procedure under 45 minutes.

I rather not mess with anything on my w220, its just better because its older for me any way to have someone else do the work. I'm going to go in maybe next week and see about this new alarm. I have to get some body work done anyway.
