hi guys,
anyone know what is the latest release date of cd nav disk that will work in a 2002 S500 ?

Also, will a regular music cd play if you insert it where the nav disk goes ?
I do not have a cd player in the trunk.

No, it will not play music CDs.

The NAV discs are limited to area, so which area you talking about?
This is old technology, and the display sucks.

I believe a $ 100.00 TomTom will give you superior navigation, and hands free connection to your cell phone with auto call and auto answer.

Yes, the head unit will play a music CD. It will not play MP3 files, only audio files. It will play a properly-recorded disk full of audio files.

I used the nav cd slot for a cd phone holder from Amazon. I think I paid $7-$8 dollars. It works pretty well for my iPhone 5. I don't have Bluetooth in my 2002 s430 but when I make calls and use the speaker function the sound quality isn't bad. I then use a tape adapter with a headphone out to plug into my iPhone in order to listen to pandora. So far it's been a good cheap work around.

On a 2002? I'll have to try it and report back ( I have the CD player in the back ) The tape payer in the front may be difficult to use an adapter with because of the wire involved. Interesting!
