Comand 2.5 CD/Radio/Tape buttons not working
Hi,
i have a 2002 S430 with a Comand 2.5 (CD changer in the trunk/boot). The audio is currently stuck to the Radio mode. The buttons along the top: Eject Tape CD Radio do not work when pressed.
Has anyone seen this problem before?
Any suggestions to how to fix?
I would like to think its a simple matter of ripping out the Comand unit and finding some bad button contacts - however, the fact that all the buttons (except the Display Off btn) don't work, I tend to think it might be a more significant (even unfixable!) problem.
Any help or pointers owuld be appreciated (I'm yet to find any answers using Google).
Thanks
Wayne

It may not be a button problem but rather the fiber optic under the CD changer. Disconnect and reconnect may help. Also, a squirt of electronic cleaner spray is always advisable.

Removed/reinstalled cd changer and comand unit, checked fuses. No luck.
Even opened up the radio unit and reset all ribbon cables coming from button area.
I think it might be easier to install 3rd party WinCE media unit - once I research which ones work well.
