How many people are interested in catless downpipes?
I'm having some catless downpipes made and it would be cheaper if a few other people were interested as well. I don't have a price yet but I estimate it to be around $900/pair. These would be bolt in, stainless steel, tig welded, and high quality, not some exhaust shop garbage. They would fit the 2003-2006 S600.

It depends on your state and your inspection technician, but generally speaking, no. Your car will fail because it's illegal to remove your catalysts for street use. If your inspection technician notices in the visual inspection that your cats are gone, you will fail.
They will not throw a Check Engine Light (CEL/MIL). I've read some reports of these cars even passing emissions sniff tests without the cats but I wouldn't count on it, especially as our cars age.
The primary reason I've designed these as a bolt-in unit is so that they can be swapped out easily. It adds significantly more cost that just destroying the factory exhaust and welding in a pipe in place of the cat but this way you get to retain your stock parts for when you sell the car, inspections, etc.
The only thing I have to say from a legal standpoint is that these are intended for off-road use only. It is illegal to remove any emissions control equipment on your street driven vehicle.

No rush, i need to do some upkeep and maintenance on the car anyway so modding isn't top priority. If they are ready I will buy a set though, I need to get this car de-catted and ready for the tune/nitrous.

Sorry, I forgot all about this thread. I ended up having 5 made and they are all installed and out the door. Three were sold locally, the other two I put on cars that I sold.
I've been contemplating making another batch. Send me an email if you can and I will get back to you tomorrow.
