Speed readout in instrument cluster

Is there a way to get the current speed to readout in the instrument cluster in a 2000 S500?
It was mentioned to me , but I can't find anything in the menu to do that.
Thanks

I actually asked this too when we were delivered our car, but it seems like it's only available on the w203's.

it depends on geography. many 2000 S500s in Dubai for example have push button start.

My 2000 S430 needed the speedometer replaced around 43k miles under warranty. After the replacement, I noticed a digitial speedometer reading so I guess I gained an extra feature.

In my 2005 S500 I can use the arrow key to display the digital speedo however everytime I turn the car off and get back in the mileage display comes back up and I have scroll to get the the digital speedo again. Does anyone know if there is a way to "lock" the MPH display so that each time I start the car I dont have to change the diplay?

That you cannot. Only the main menu items will stay when the car is turned on. the speed display is a submenu.
There is no way to make it a main menu item either.

Speed Readout

Gentlemen,

The speed readout came about in the '02 model (facelift) it is actually a function of the instrument cluster as the software was updated. If you get a cluster for the 02 year onwards, and program it to your car - you will have the same feature appear too!

I have a 2000 S500. I just had the instrument cluster replaced (under warrenty) and the new cluster has the speed setting. It was a new "universal" cluster.
