Part number changes.....is there a way to tie into Mercedes engineering change orders

I've been reading lots of posts and talked with lots of dealers but I'm not making any progress - need an inside guru. I started a new business a while back repairing (rebuilding)the coil packs on the V12's model years 2001 -2012 (see V12icpack.com for details). We've done enough repairs for commuters with no issues. I'm now getting more calls about upgrading the the coil packs. Many of these calls are coming from folks that did tuning upgrades and coils are failing almost immediately. We've got a good understanding why they're failing but can't get any hard data from anyone about the part number change on the coil packs - besides the high voltage sticker change. Similar situation on the voltage transformer as the last four digits rolled from 0158 to 0258. The components all look the same but difficult to identify trace changes on the pcb or some tiny change with by-pass caps and the like. Can anyone out there demonstrably identify what has actually occurred/changed when the part number rolls ?

Funny you should ask....... the most recent guy I'm working with did the Eurocharged tune. I talked with Eurocharged and they claim they only see it with older, higher mileage cars - not low mileage/newer cars. Understandably, a coil with millions and millions of firings has been weakened over time but then a ton unknown variables get thrown in.......It also raises the question is there actually something different in the coil pack on the newer part number and if so.....what ?
