2001 s500 power locks won't work
I have a 01 s500 and the power locks stopped working a few days ago and the truck lid won't open. Checked the fuses and the all looked fine. Any suggestions?

Locate the floor light behind where the right rear's passenger heels would be. Pull it out. Pull the yellow 20-Amp fuse near the right end and check it. Replace with new if it is bad - don't use a Chinese fuse. Reinsert if it is definitely good.
Check the PSE (Pneumatic Service Equipment) functions. If they now work, see how long they work. If they fail in a matter of days, you may have a leak in the system - usually one or more broken actuators. The computer will shut off a leaking actuator to protect the pump.
If the PSE functions still don't work, you may have a failed pump or other PSE problem. The PSE pump is in the left forward corner of the trunk. Go to the encyclopedia sticky at the top of the page and do some research. Skylaw has done a lot of work gathering and arranging the info, and it can be very helpful.
