2003 s500 AMG 2004 CLK 320 2004 ML350
New to the S Class
I very recently aquired a 2003 s500, AMG pkg, unusaul color combination Dolphin gray over parchment interior, virtually perfect body and interior, the best part is it has a mere 36,000 original miles! I wanted to see what the response was to this car at under $20k, how did I do? Any recommendations on preventative maintenance besides scheduled? Common issues?
thanks
thanks

With mileage that low , pricing is higher
$20,000 is a very high price but all that matters is you like it
Generally these cars sell for $5000-8000 with over 100k miles
And $8000-12000 if under 100k miles

Looks like the same color combo I have on my 06'. I got some wood parts from a S 600 off of ebay. Before and after. Simple swap of parts. A little too much gray on gray for me. As for price, it is all about the area you live in and how common they are. My 4matic was a bit under $14k with over 100k miles, but was very well cared for. I also added a pre painted trunk wing from ebay.

I like what you did with the interior parts from the S600. Looks really good. Had a question, how hard is it to remove the Rear Wood ashtrays ??

The ashtray covers have plastic tabs and pop off. When you get the used ones, you can see the tabs and they are not hard to pry off the inner section. I also did a wood wheel and shift knob. On the shifter , you can buy a black & wood and swap the gray leather parts if they are in good shape. Matching the gray is a challenge if you need to refinish the leather steering wheel. I did because the 4matic has a more rare heated steering wheel. When you look for the wood, remember that the s430 used different wood. The s500 and s600 used dark walnut.
