2006 S500 Notification Malfunction ESP and ABS Pre-safe unavailable

This morning I started my 2006 S500 and received the following dashboard notification. Malfunction ESP, ABS Malfunction and Pre-safe unavailable.
I tried the reset of turning the steering wheel back and forth several times, turning the car off and then on. The notifications stayed on.
The car drove ok. At times braking seemed somewhat hard at times. Other times braking was fine.
Can anyone offer any imput and advice relative to this problem? Thank you.

Did you happen to check all your fuses?

I did not check the fuses. I started it up a few hours later and the fault notifications were gone. I realize that may come back.
I did some research and others with the same problem say it could be a defective brake light switch.

Those same notifications show up if your battery has been discharged/replaced. The reset procedures for battery replacement/jump start include what you did with the steering wheel.

How's your battery otherwise?

I had the battery checked today and it is fine. I will bring the car to my Indy tomorrow and have him go through it.

Try the steering wheel reset. Turn on the car and turn steering wheel left to right lock to lock. It resets the steering angle sensor that is needed for the ESP function. Then hold down the dash reset to clear message and see if the message comes back.
