'05 S600 with Rear Suspension Sag

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum so if this topic is covered somewhere else please direct me to the appropriate destination so I don't clutter this page.

I have a 2005 S600 with around 60,000 miles. I have a rear suspension sag issue. The passenger side rear noticeably sags and I have no idea why. I recently replaced the rear suspension system or at least Rear Shocks (both sides), the Hydraulic Pump and Suspension Clips. This was at the discretion of the mechanics at the dealer. This was all done to the tune of $8500 so one can imagine my frustration when the issue has not been resolved.

Has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix it? Thank you in advance for all of your help.

As far as I can tell. After I drive it a bit the sag is reduced. Since it's not my DD it'll often sit for a week or more and over a short time the sag increases.

Its the valve block, one for front and one for rear, your rear valve block need to be rebuild ( $150) or replace ($1000). labor is extra ! Mine 05 S600 is also not my DD and it will sag when I park more than a week or so. I just did rebuild both front and rear valve block and also found out the black balloon need to be replace also. this is also the best time to flush your suspension fluid. total cost to rebuild both value block, new fluid, filter and black balloon is about $1000 plus my own labor ! Dealer may just replace the valve block(rear), flush fluid for more than $2k. if your are lucky, your black balloon still ok !

Interesting, thank you very much for helping me get to the bottom of this. Can anyone else second this? I don't know a ton about this so I will have to do some research. Is the rebuild hard?

The hardest part is getting it out, if you don't have a lift. Crow's foot wrench was necessary for me, a second set of hands would have been nice. That said, still not hard. I recommend having some towels handy, and gloves to save your knuckles because those lines go from really tight to freewheeling pretty darn quick. The actual rebuild is super easy and simple. Cost me $10 in O-rings, $15 for filter, and $120 pentosin for the flush and rebuild.

Also, make sure the car is well supported. With the valve block removed, nothing will stop it from going straight to the ground. Not good, considering you'll be under it. So don't trust just the floor jack on this one. You'll need stands.

Also, my driver's rear is still low compared to the rest, so bear in mind this might not solve your issue. Each corner of the car can be programmed independently with STAR, so my next step is to find someone with STAR to try to program it level.

I did extensive research when my S55 amg rear side sagged when parked. If shut off valve seals at ABC valve block are bad, vehicle get lower. So, I rebuilt myself along with accumulators. If you do yourself, it cost only less than $20 of o-rings plus pentosin & cost of accumulator. It is not difficult job.
Like others mentioned above, it is best time to replace accumulators together.
Here is some info of abc trouble shooting guide.
