diagnostic star tool abc help
So my abc drive carefully warning light came on in red and i was wondering what is my first step to trying to figure out what i should replace ?
Should i take it to the dealer ? will they give me the diagnostic codes ? Should i goto mbstartool.com and buy a diagnostic system there ? which one would i even buy though ?
I kind of want to go in there and just replace then tandem abc pump but what if its the actual compressor ? what if its none of those things ? could be a vavle block or a accumulator.
Any help and suggestions would be much appreaciated. Im not scared to rebuild the abc pump if i have too which seems like thats usually the case. My fluid for abc doesnt seem low at all.

Out Of Control!!
Dear Biff, your solutions go from the foolish to the absurd, and wow I wish I had your money to throw around----do yourself a huge favor call around the foreign repair shops and simply ask if they have diagnostic tools that can read all of the cars modules---someone in Houston has gotta have good diagnostics---then go see him and all you want is a copy of the quick test, which lists all the faults and then you can play mechanic and attempt to fix a very complicate system!!

don't start replacing parts. While it's usually the pump it could be the valve blocks or a strut

Since I plan on owning a mercedes benz car for a while i really dont actually mind learning how to use a star sds over time. Ive had my eclass for almost 10years now and ive never taken it to the mechanic ive always fixed it myself.
I see a bunch of dirt cheap s classes on craigslist. I think it would be awesome to learn how to repair these vehicles over time so I could buy one,fix it and give one to my mom. So im looking at this from a long term point of view. I think i have a guy coming over this weekend who does side work Ill ask him which system I should look into getting or not.
If anyone can still recommend a system to buy please chime in

I have the aliexpress setup on XP that works very well. The new ones use W7.
Tiny curve with keygens and a larger curve learning the system.
Anyway, real happy with the aliexpress quality.

Ouch! Any time I get an ABC car I will immediately flush the fluid with MB fluid (pentosin will eventually kill the pump because there are no conditioners in that fluid), replace the filters, and replace all 4 of the pressure accumulators (also known as nitrogen spheres) under the car. I will do all of that even if the owner tells me he just did it an hour ago before I came and bought the car. Can never be too careful, and it's not that expensive and you can do it yourself.
That usually alleviates a lots of stress off the pump and will save a dying one from death or bring one with error codes back to life (most of the time). I haven't had to replace an ABC pump yet, and I have had 4 cars with ABC that I beat the absolute snot out of.
